Hello, my name is Wendy Santillan, and I am a student at Sheehan Highschool. Because of Waterbury’s critical rate of poverty, I plan to bring 50 underprivileged children from the Boys and Girls Club of Waterbury to a field trip to the Connecticut Science Center. These children often grow up psychologically affected by poverty in a way that makes them feel hopeless about their education and future. With your help, I can incite a passion for learning among children who need it the most.
